🎸 "Sweet Caroline" Melody Deep-Dive!

Hey there, friends! I'm wrapping up a few Christmas lessons for later this week β€” and wanted to share this new tutorial teaching the Sweet Caroline melody, which I've been having a blast playing the past several days.

In recent years, I've included a portion of each song's melody in most tutorials I do – but this lesson goes quite deep and looks at all three sections of the song (verse, pre-chorus, and chorus) β€” giving the complete melody tab for each.

I'll start off in open position β€” and in the second half of my tutorial I'll show how you can play this recognizable melody in any major scale position on the fretboard. For me, this has been a goldmine when it comes to practice – and I hope you likewise find it helpful.

Don't Miss the Bonus Content!

In addition to my main video lesson above, I made a few bonus items to help you have fun with things. This includes a zoomed-in playthrough, a video practice track, and a print-friendly guide showing all the A major scale shapes on the fretboard (and a few extra example phrases tabbed out).

Interested in Strumming Sweet Caroline?

Check out my earlier lesson showing how to sing & strum this song in the Key of A major! Play-along cover also included. This is a song you can play with just three chords (A, D, E) but I'll teach a ton of extra licks, riffs, and fills you can use to spice things up.

I have a six-page song sheet available as well, if you want all my notes (lyrics and chords included) in one single package. More info available via the link above.

And likewise, if you're after some theory-based explanations of the concepts at play here β€” check out these earlier lessons I've made:

Thanks and Enjoy!

Special shout-out to John B, who requested this Sweet Caroline melody lesson a few weeks back. John's been a monthly supporter of my Song Notes project for over five years – for which I'm incredibly grateful!

Everyone stay tuned for the Christmas stuff I've been working on. I honestly wish I could have gotten things wrapped up a bit earlier, but such is the way it goes sometimes. Keep an eye out for that later this week β€” I'm confident you'll enjoy.

Until then, stay warm and take care!

✌️ David
